The Internet of Things’ strength will be in the breadth of services it offers, rather than a deep dive into specific verticals, TIM has claimed.
In a discussion at the recent Mobile Europe and European Communications seminar on the enterprise opportunity with the IoT, TIM’s Head of Innovation Enrico Bagnasco said the wide range of applications demanded by customers will require a range of different connectivity types, which will segment the market.
He said: “As soon as you get deep into a vertical you get deep in the business logic and environment. We can’t afford to do that.” He added that a vertical approach will require partners.
