Turkcell virtualises voice interconnect services

Services to run on Ribbonโ€™s โ€˜container-readyโ€™ solution to expand capacity, flexibility and automation

Turkcell has selected Ribbon and its partner Odine, which specialises in integrating virtualized and containerized infrastructure and solutions to upgrade its voice interconnect services.

Dr Gediz Sezgin, Turkcellโ€™s Chief Technology Officer (pictured), commented, โ€œVirtualisation and cloudification of existing services is a foundational step in our digitalisation journey and also helps us lower costs and simplify operations through centralised management while enabling real-time resource allocationโ€.

The solution, deployed in Turkcellโ€™s core network, includes Ribbonโ€™s session border controller software edition (SBC SWe), its policy and routing software edittion (SX SWe), and virtualised element management system (EMS).
