stc Kuwait to deploy 5G New Calling after concluding trial

The tech will support HD video calls, real-time translations, speech-to-text and more to boost enterprises’ productivity

stc Kuwait has successfully completed a pilot for 5G New Calling and claims it is the first telco in the region to do so. Now it plans to introduce the technology commercially to provide customers with new and better services.

For example, it will enable interactive HD video communication to support “enhanced collaboration and engagement”. Video calls can also have real-time translations, speech-to-text transcription, screen sharing, an interactive visual menu and enterprise ID cards.

CTO Fahad Al Ali said in a statement, “The potential oof 5G goes beyond just speed, it is about creating an interconnected world where information flows seamlessly, with reduced latency and enhanced reliability.
