Orange’s enterprise division is set to build a new virtualised network for manufacturer Siemens as the latter embraces the likes of the IoT.
The six-year contract, worth €240 million, will see Orange Business Services migrating Siemens’ global infrastructure to a single SD-WAN network.
Called the Siemens Digitalisation Network, it will support 1,500 sites across 94 countries, connecting IoT devices and cloud applications.
Orange Business Services said the initiative would reduce complexity and strengthen application performance and agility.

Janssen cited Orange’s ability to deliver a “seamless” worldwide network, its security capabilities and the level of service it had provided under existing agreements between the two companies.
