Martin Dawes rebrands and appoints top execs

The billing systems and “enterprise customer experience management solutions” provider Martin Dawes Systems has re-branded as MDS and appointed a new CEO and CMO to drive its future strategy.

The new CEO is Drew Rockwell, who now adds overall leadership of the group to his existing post as CEO of Martin Dawes Analytics, the division the company formed from its acquisitions of Lavastorm and Visual Wireless. Aside from his time with MDA, Rockwell is an ex senior VP of Corporate Strategy and Development at Verizon.

The new CMO is Matt Hooper, who may be known to Mobile Europe readers for his stints at messaging services provider Colibria and mobile content delivery company Elata, which was acquired by Qualcomm in 2005. Like Rockwell, Hooper also has carrier experience with BT and Orange.

Hooper said that MDS had relaunched its brand and website to support its international expansion plans and to “support the growing community around new generation enterprise customer experience”.

“In addition, we are focusing on new BSS approaches and strategies required in order to enable CSPs to serve existing markets with greater differentiation and launch into new markets faster to support new and growing business models such as VNE,” he added.

Dewi Thomas, who was the previous CEO, is now the Vice Chairman and Director of Strategy.

MDS as ex-Vodafone exec Julian Horn-Smith on its board, which is chaired by Martin Dawes. Its mobile customers include O2 UK and Vodafone UK.
