Greek operator Cosmote has demonstrated three carrier FDD/TDD aggregation with the help of Nokia Networks, in what the companies claimed was a “world’s first”.
The Deutsche Telekom subsidiary held the demonstration at Infocom World 2015 in Athens, aggregating band 3, at 1.8GHz and band 42, at 3.5GHz.
Nokia Networks said 3.5GHz could be an important resource to increase mobile broadband capacity and improve consumer services. According to the vendor, as much as 400MHz of spectrum is available globally and this could be used to meet the increasing use of video on mobile networks.

Earlier this week, Telstra and Ericsson demonstrated five carrier aggregation on its live network, hitting downlink speeds of almost 1GBps.
