Network functions virtualisation (NFV) allows CSPs to evolve their technology and business models by bringing the benefits of enterprise IT to telecommunications networks.

Mike Heffner, Product Manager, Oracle
Michael Heffner joined Oracle as part of the acquisition of Tekelec in 2013 and serves as part of the Product Management team for Oracle’s Policy solution. Prior to joining Oracle, Michael served in several capacities at Tekelec including Director of Product Management for Tekelec’s Monitoring & Service Assurance product and Director of Strategic Marketing and Business Development.
Michael’s most recent responsibilities include defining Tekelec’s product and market strategy in the areas of Cloud, NFV & SDN, and identifying new market adjacencies that would allow Tekelec to expand it’s footprint and addressable market for it’s next generation Broadband Network Solutions (BNS) portfolio. Michael was responsible for driving these strategies with the Product Teams and Senior Management as well as communicating this strategy externally via conference speaking engagements and engagements with industry analysts and media outlets. Michael brings over 20 years of telecommunications experience serving in various roles ranging from R&D, Systems Engineering, Product Marketing and Product Management. Michael had served in many positions at large telecom vendors such as Nortel, Motorola and Tekelec as well as several start-up and consulting companies. Michael holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M University.
