Subscribers’ TV viewing habits evolved, so Orange did too
Home network vendor CommScope is working with Orange subsidiaries in Moldova, Slovensko and Belgium to provide an Orange TV service. In the latest event in the series, Orange Moldova gave its subscribers the latest generation of set tops powered by Android TV, which are designed to offer both live television and premium streaming services.
At the launch of the Orange TV Box 4K, Orange Moldova offered its subscribers the next generation of a Hybrid DVB-C and IP connected 4K UHD digital video decoder. This promises to receive an uncomplicated feed of broadcast DVB-C TV services and connect to the Internet in order to provide OTT streaming services.
Though it looks like an ugly black box Orange claims that subscribers will see it’s hidden beauty in a state-of-the-art interface. This makes tuning in to Android TV achievable and gives a superior viewing experience, said Orange. Subscribers can also easily select films and music to be played on their TV with in-built Chromecast.
“Orange Moldova is providing their subscribers with innovative set tops that will enhance their viewing experience and deliver aggregated streaming content,” said Anthony Zuyderhoff, CommScope’s SVP of Global Sales and Marketing for Home Networks.
The Orange TV Box 4K provides access to the full Orange Moldova TV Grid, with 181 live TV channels. The device also allows for one hour of recording.
“We understand that our subscribers’ television viewing habits have evolved. That means our services and devices had to evolve as well,” said Olga Surugiu, CEO, Orange Moldova. “With the new TV Box, we will bring innovation to our customers’ homes, while Android TV brings users endless entertainment in one place.”
