Ingenico launches m-payment solution

Payment solutions vendor Ingenico has signed a deal with PayEx to deliver an m-payment solution in the Nordic region.

The payment on-the-go solution, dubbed iSMP, has been jointly developed with PayEx’s POS supplier, OpenSolution Nordic.

The solution, which is aimed at the Nordic retail and transportation sectors, will increase the range of PayEx terminals in use across the Nordics. Ingenico said that the solution will turn an iPod/iPhone into a Chip & PIN

PCI approved mobile payment solution, which will allow the merchant to receive secure on-location payments.
Ingenico said that it has already signed deals with local tourism and transport companies Stromma and Flygsbusssarna.

A third deal is in place with retail firm Hemglass, which provides mobile food delivery across Sweden.

Jose Luis Arias, Managing Director at Ingenico Northern Europe and Iberia said: “This deal highlights Ingenico’s continuing aim of working with partners to deliver fully integrated mobile payment solutions to businesses.

“More customers are looking for payment solutions that are not only secure, but also provide them with innovative solutions to help improve the efficiency of their sales. We expect to see a significant uptake of mobile payment solutions like this across the Nordic market.”

Lisa Forsström, Sales Manager for PayEx payment terminals in Sweden, said: “PayEx is the first and, so far, the only supplier of this kind of up-to-date payment solution in the Nordic market. We help our customers to deliver new and higher service levels to their customers.”
