Vidiator, a provider of mobile streaming and encoding solutions, today announced the launch of its Xenon 5.0 platform.
Xenon 5.0 is claimed to be the only platform to offer a mobile operator everything they need to launch a mobile TV service in one system – from live encoders which deliver H.264 content to improved carrier grade quality streaming for greater stability, reliability and performance. The Xenon platform is also claimed to offer the best Dynamic Bitrate Adaptation (DBA) in the industry, with advanced bookmark and playlist features. This has been further improved, says Vidiator, together with faster channel/track switching, and the addition of iPhone 3.0 and Flash support.
Xenon 5.0 also comes with an enhanced user interface, to enable mobile operators to easily manage their content for multiple-screens and targeted ad insertion enabling richer revenues from the service.
Xenon's flexible and modular architecture is infinitely scalable offering advanced operations and management via Xenon's Admin Centre and integration with billing and subscriber management systems using Xenon Service Broker.
Connie Wong, CEO of Vidiator commented: "The Xenon 5.0 platform is a launch-pad that mobile operators and broadcasters across the world can use to deliver a fully featured, high quality and robust video service.
"Xenon 5.0 has been designed for mobile TV and internet encoding and streaming with the highest possible quality and performance. Designed as carrier-grade solutions, the Xenon engines are already under-pinning some of the world's most successful mobile TV services, including BSkyB, 3 and Vodafone."
