Europe’s largest operator joined Microsoft’s Azure Networking Managed Service Provider (MSP) partner program and will offer managed network services for the public cloud platform.
This includes virtual WAN to connect various locations and ExpressRoute for private connections with Azure data centres, as well as managed security for firewalls and DDoS attack mitigations.
The companies say their partnership comes at a time of growing demand for managed, secure network connections as an increasing number of companies migrate elements of their IT landscapes over to the cloud.
Combining capabilities
Deutsche Telekom offers its services in most Azure regions and connects them with one another. This means companies can access their applications and data via data centres located all over the world.

Since launch
Microsoft’s Azure Networking Managed Service Provider (MSP) partner program was launched in July 2019, to improve connectivity into its environments. Its initial eight partners were Aryaka, Equinix, BT, Data Dimension (now part of NTT), IIJ of Japan, Megaport of Australia, InterCloud and Tata Communications. Vandis signed up in November 2019 and CenturyLink joined the program in February.
