Mentum, a wireless access and backhaul network planning and optimization company, and Ubidyne, a specialist in antenna embedded radio technology for wireless networks, announced today that the companies have entered into a partnership to further extend the capability of Mentum Planet tools to support advanced Antenna Embedded Radio technology.
Ubidyne's Antenna Embedded Radios integrate all of the radio frequency elements of a network directly into the antenna housing and improve quality of service while reducing network CAPEX and OPEX costs. With Mentum Planet's ability to manage advanced antenna systems and accurately emulate real-world conditions, operators will be able to fully exploit Ubidyne's advanced capabilities such as vertical sectorization, dynamic beam pattern control, SISO/MIMO selectivity and per-carrier tilt control within a 'simple and user-friendly' simulation environment.
"Mentum Planet has unmatched simulation and analytical capabilities with built-in support for evaluation of multiple "what-if" scenarios making it the perfect platform for mobile network operators to fully optimize their networks for every carrier and every sector of every cell with this new generation of base station radio equipment," commented Bernard Breton, Chief Operating and Strategy Officer at Mentum. "Mentum is the very first network planning company to support this advanced technology making this is a prime example of the company's continual efforts to drive innovation in network planning and optimization."
"Mentum is on the industry forefront in developing tools to help network operators realize the dream of Self Optimizing Networks. With our Antenna Embedded Radios built into Mentum Planet, operators will be able to realize the full cost and performance advantages of our revolutionary new radio architecture for LTE and LTE-Advanced as well as 2G and 3G applications," stated Ken Hawk, CEO of Ubidyne.
