And more “meaningful”calls
Ever found your mobile calls sufferering from a lack of meaning? Ever feel that exisitential hole in your conversational ability reinforced by your worries about gabbing on for hours and hours because of worries about how much all this is going to cost? Well Vodafone has promised to sort out both with a new “Stop the clock” product. It’s also increasing the number of its contract price plans from five to nine and its pre-pay bundles from four to six.
Vodafone’s Stop the Clock feature will allow users on contract, pre-pay and 3G price plans to talk for an hour at evenings and weekends but only pay for the first three minutes to any UK fixed line or mobile.
The new price plans and bundles are to be branded Perfect Fit, as before.
“We listened to our customers who said that they wanted to talk for longer but were wary about the price so we developed new Perfect Fit and prepay price plans and added Vodafone Stop the Clock to the Vodafone live! with 3G price plans to give both greater choice and value, “says Tim Yates, Chief Marketing Officer of Vodafone UK. “
“In the new price plan structure, customers receive 500 minutes for £50 against the previous 400 for the same price and we have introduced a 700 minute bundle for £60.”
A recent survey for Vodafone that found that over a third of people in the UK cut calls short because of the cost, with 16-24 year olds being most likely to hang up (47%).
Vodafone Stop the Clock will be available to new and existing customers. New pay monthly customers will need to commit to an 18 month contract.
Vodafone Stop the Clock will be supported by a multi-million pound advertising campaign featuring television, press and poster advertising based around the line “Sometimes Life’s More than a 3 Minute Conversation.”
